Responding to unmet and emerging needs has clearly defined my life as a CSA. I was raised in Akron, Ohio into a family of 4 girls and 1 boy, and entered the convent in 1964. Most of my ministry life was spent in the classroom, as a high school English teacher. I taught a wide range of curriculums, but found remedial classes in reading, writing, and basic skills to be the most enjoyable. I also previously ministered as a member of the CSA Council, and formerly served as a board member at Centering Space, a house of prayer in Lakewood, OH. I am grateful for all the experiences in my 60+ years of service as a CSA. There are old sayings that still hold true: “When a teacher leaves the classroom, the classroom goes with her;” and beyond that, “by my students I have been taught.” I have been truly blessed.
