Since leaving my role on the leadership Council of CSA, I have been involved in a number of volunteer activities. Once or twice month I participate in a prayer group at Edna House, a house for women in recovery. This is a program of the Ignatian Spirituality Program. I co-facilitate an annual retreat for the LGBTQ+ community and in 2024 we celebrated our 25th Anniversary. In the area of Social Justice, I initiated a JPIC (Justice, Peace and the Integration of Creation) group consisting of sisters from 6 different communities and a lay woman. We have been meeting for over 15 years and are engaged in prayer, education, and action around a variety of social justice issues. I’m also on the Social Action Ministry of my parish, The Cathedral of St. John. We serve the Cosgrove Center by collecting funds and personal items. Once a year we sponsor a special dinner at the Center at which we decorate, serve the meals, and provide hospitality. I stay active in my opposition of the death penalty and my support of the trans community. I volunteer on a number of boards and am grateful to have been able to serve on the board of Lakewood Catholic Academy for 20 years. These volunteer ministries have been very life-giving for me. I am very grateful.
