The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine

Serving Cleveland, Canton, Kentucky and South Carolina in healthcare, education, and social services since 1851

“What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.”

St. Augustine of Hippo

Our Story

The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine have served the Diocese of Cleveland in health care, education and social services since 1851. Since that time, we have sisters in ministry in the Diocese of Youngstown, Kentucky, and South Carolina. You will find us in prayer settings, healthcare, parish life, pastoral care, ecology, and community outreach ministries, such as food pantries, homeless shelters, and immigrant services. We strive to remain open to where God is calling us to be.
